A young and curious learner.
My father was the kick-start to my IT career, he was the one to introduce me to computers and by myself, was able to learn more skills via the internet. Eventually, I delved into the world of Linux and LiveUSBs via a piece of software called UNetbootin.
I had a problem where I got myself stuck into the Linux command line due to the lack of network drivers and therefore was unable to install packages via APT, so I took the chance to learn the Linux command line and the knowledge is still being used today. Due to this adventure, it was able to give me some excitement of computers which follows me until today.
Linux Command Line
Over the years of working with Linux, I have acquired a skill in Linux troubleshooting and basic maintenance of Linux machines from experiences. For example, using the command dmesg | tail to find error messages and rectify it with a hardware swap for a hardware issue, or a package update with managers like apt-get (Ubuntu-based distro) or pacman (Arch Linux) or other solutions for a software issue.
Hardware and Software Troubleshooting
While working part time and while diagnosing my own hardware, I am able to diagnose and fix machines that does not boot and is unable to boot into the installed operating systems. I am also able to do a clean reinstall of Windows and able to configure to suit the user’s needs. I am able to troubleshoot issues like a printer driver malfunction, web browser misconfiguration and others.
Entry Level Electronics
I have some experience with some electronics, including some basic circuits using transistors and seeing waveforms using a small oscilloscope and soldering experience to fix up broken electronics. I am also able to program microcontrollers using C and am planning to do an IOT project using a screen, an ESP32 and speakers to make a Google Assistant like device.
